How can I use your cartoons? |
In presentations, newsletters, advertising/promotion, direct mail, technical manuals, on T-shirts, coffee mugs, mousepads, in journals, magazines, corporate reports, on billboards, screensavers, websites and intranets, in murals, the sides of buses, the ceilings of airport terminals, embroidered on a quilt, etched into brass award plaques, tattooed on a body part, sprayed onto the side of a New York transit vehicle. What have I left out? |
| |
How much do you charge for your cartoons? |
| It depends on how the cartoon is being used. Contact us with specific information and we'll give you a quote. | ||||||||
| |
How can I see more of your cartoons? |
| There is an area on this web site where you can view several cartoons from The 5th Wave. We also have 8 1/2 x 11" sample sheets containing 3 - 5 reduced and numbered cartoons per side which we can send you. | ||||||||
How do I order a reprint cartoon? |
If you've seen a 5th Wave cartoon you'd like to use, contact us through this web page describing the cartoon and how you'd like to use it. Leave a phone number and address, and we'll contact you. We'll then arrange to send out the cartoon along with a bill, which will contain your copyright release. You can also select cartoons from the sample sheets mentioned above and place your order, referencing the number next to the cartoons. Full sized, reproducible copies of those cartoons will be sent to you in the manner you wish: email attachment, through our ftp site, Zip Disk, US Post/FedEx, etc. (For FedEx, please include your FedEx account number). |
Do you ever make changes to your cartoons? |
Yes. We can alter a caption to mention your product, company or a client, in a way that gives more impact to the cartoon. |
Can you create a new cartoon for my company? |
Yes. Let us know what kind of cartoon you're looking for, how it will be used, and how quickly you need it. Turn around times for original work vary from 2 - 4 weeks. |
Can I buy one of your originals? |
I don't sell my originals at this time. |
If I plan to use one of your cartoons on a newsletter just within my company, and I'm not selling the newsletter, do I have to get a copyright release? |
Yes. Copyrighted material is copyrighted material. Even if you're a non-profit organization and you're putting it in a free newsletter handed out just within your company. To do so without obtaining a copyright release would be breaking the law. |
Where did you come up with the name "The 5th Wave"? |
It refers to the book "Future Shock" by Alvin Toffler, in which the author lists the stages of societies development in waves, e.g., from the agricultural age (The 1st Wave), to the industrial (The 2nd Wave), to the information age (The 3rd Wave). I actually wanted to call my feature, The 4th Wave, but the editor who was buying my cartoons at that time convinced me The 5th Wave sounded better. |
Where do you get your ideas? |
From a voice I hear coming from my neighbor's dog. |
